Winners of the "Best Farmers Market" in Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds in the Cotswold Life Food and Drink Awards 2003, 2004 and 2005.
Held
in the purpose built market place in Cornhill, in the town centre,
Stroud was the first farmers market in Gloucestershire, launched
in July 1999.
There
are around 45 to 60 stalls at the market, depending on the season.
Entertainments
from local musicians add to the atmosphere
of this well-established and popular market. Hot food is available from Adey's Organic Farm, who cook delicious organic burgers and sausages, Niang's Thai Snacks, where Niang is on hand to create you favourite Thai dishes, Forager Free Range, where Clare and Chilly will cook you a delicious gluten- free sausage with onions, and the market cafe, where you can rest your feet for a while and treat yourself to home baked goodies.
As
well as a wide range of local produce, there are quality local
crafts. Seasonal events include an anniversary market at the
beginning of July, apple day festivities in October and Christmas
events in December.
This
award-winning market is well worth a visit if you are a new-comer
to farmers markets or if you are a well seasoned shopper of
fine local foods.

We celebrated our 7th anniversary in June 2006 with this lovely cake and strawberries and cream! Now the market is going to become weekly from the 5th of August and we look forward to our 8th birthday in 2007 and hope you can join us then in celebrating the sucess of the Stroud Farmers Market. Now every saturday!!
