Sophia Hughes makes thrown domestic stoneware and hand built individual pieces. Sophia gained a Diploma in Painting and Etching and then discovered she could throw and loved it. She did so intermittently for the next twenty years whilst bringing up children and renovating houses.
In 1990 Sophia became a full-time potter.

Sophia's domestic ware comes in blue, dark blue, green and dark green glazes and is ideal for collecting.  Her individual, hand built pieces are usually made of 'T' material sometimes coloured with slips, and may be scraped or burnished.
