James Milroy Sepia Press

I have lived and worked as an artist and teacher in the Stroud area for nearly twenty years. Although principally a painter and sculptor I have recently acquired a printing press to create cards and prints of the local towns, villages and countryside.
I am particularly interested in recording aspects of life in the five valleys, including markets, festivals and street cafes.
In the near future I intend to publish a book of MARKET SKETCHES - words and pictures inspired by the Stroud Farmers Market.
The inks used are oil based but water-soluble so no solvents are used in cleaning and they should be very permanent. All paper is acid free and wherever possible I use recycled papers. The picture frames are made locally.
The two-colour prints involve printing a medium toned colour first then printing a darker tone over the top. Prints will vary in colour and sometimes the registration of the two colours will be slightly askew – this all adds to their charm! None of the prints are available as limited editions but I am available for commissions and welcome any feedback.
